"I only hope that we don
' t lose sight of one th ing - that it was all started by a mouse." -Walt Disney
Disney World is one of the unique places where an adult and child can enjoy themselves. The nostalgia and memories take you back to when you were a kid. I went with my family and got to see my little cousin’s reaction to a magical world that she sees in all the Disney movies.
As you walk through Main Street in Magic Kingdom, the colors, sights, smells, and sounds fill you with the “magic” that Walt Disney wanted everyone to feel each and every time they came to Disney World. An American Icon, Walt Disney knew from the beginning that he wanted to entertain people of all ages. Many years later, he created a brand name that is recognized all over the world. Disney changed the way animated films were created and viewed. Treasured by children all over the world, he believed that movies can have a huge impact in shaping young lives through entertainment. He later moved on to creating his first amusement park, Disneyland. Walt Disney’s first thoughts about Disneyland were conjured in an amusement park. Sitting on a bench and “people watching“, he observed the adults and children. His response was, “What this country really needs is an amusement park that families can take their children to. They’ve gotten so honky tonk with a lot of questionable characters running around, and they’re not safe.”
So he traveled the country and visited buildings of America’s important inventors and creators, dreaming of a “Mickey Mouse Park”.

After his successful Disneyland, he started building Magic Kingdom that opened in 1971, the first part of his planned Florida project. His next park in Disney World was Epcot, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, opening in 1982. He never got to finish it due to a sudden death from Lung Cancer in 1966, 5 years before the opening of Magic Kingdom. His ideas were finalized through all 5 parks and 2 water parks as well as many resorts. Going to Disney World is a place that everyone should get to experience. You experience and see new things each time that you didn’t see before. it's more than an amusement park, it’s a world of entertainment.
